The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has urged the Mumuye people to take pride in their rich historical heritage, describing them as symbols of bravery and resilience.
Speaking during the grand finale of the Mumuye Belle Cultural Carnival held at the Palace of the Kpanti Zing in Zing Local Government Area, the Governor praised the Mumuye people for their passion for peace and development.
The event attracted Mumuye sons and daughters from within and outside the state, government officials, and friends of the Mumuye community. The Belle Cultural Festival, an age-old tradition, celebrates the bravery and hunting skills of the Mumuye people, showcasing their historical identity.
Governor Kefas commended the festival as a reflection of the Mumuye people's courage and unity. He called on attendees to use the festival as an opportunity to reflect on their lives, renew bonds of brotherhood, and work together for a brighter future.
He also encouraged the Mumuye people to use the occasion to promote peace across all communities in Taraba State.

Earlier the Executive Chairman of Zing Local Government Area, Hon. Davoro Titus highlighted the significance of the Belle Cultural Festival as a time for sober reflection and unity. He described it as a platform for showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Mumuye people while fostering cohesion and peaceful coexistence. Hon. Davoro applauded Governor Kefas for his developmental strides and assured him of the Mumuye people's unwavering support.
The Chairman also appealed for essential facilities to enhance the festival, including a befitting cultural village, a historical museum to preserve Mumuye artifacts, and a functional vehicle for the festival’s operations.
