Taraba Assembly Confirms Readiness of Local Government Pension Board Nominees

 


The Taraba State House of Assembly Committee responsible for screening the Chairman and six executive members of the Local Government Pension Board has declared all nominees qualified for their respective roles.


The nominees were initially approved by the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, and were screened on Friday at the Assembly complex in Jalingo.


Speaking to journalists after the exercise, the committee chairman, Peter Abel Diah, expressed satisfaction with the nominees’ qualifications and performances during the screening.


He noted that their presentations and the credentials submitted showcased their readiness to take on the responsibilities of their positions.


“We have just concluded the screening of the Chairman and members of the Local Government Pension Board executive nominees,” Diah stated.


 “As a committee, we have done our part and will now submit our report to the State House of Assembly, which has the final authority to confirm or reject the nominees. Based on our evaluation, they are all qualified, and we are confident they will justify the trust placed in them by His Excellency, the Governor.”


The nominees screened include Senator Dahiru Bako from Gassol Council as Chairman, along with six executive members who are, Emmanuel D. Umar. Augustine Katakata,Yusuf Tanimu Njeke, Audu A. U. Sule, Musa Ada, and Bitrus Rimamshang.


In his remarks, Senator Dahiru Bako appreciated the lawmakers for conducting a professional and cordial screening process. He pledged to bring positive changes to the local government system under his leadership.


“We will ensure that the local government system remains functional and effective,” Bako said. “Our team is committed to driving meaningful reforms and delivering on our mandate.”
