The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has urged corps members serving in the state to collaborate with stakeholders in the agricultural sector to boost food production and preservation.
He noted that such efforts would enhance the well-being and livelihoods of the state’s residents.
Dr. Kefas made this call while presiding over the opening ceremony of the orientation course for the 2024 Batch C Stream II corps members deployed to Taraba State.
Highlighting the critical role of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in promoting and sustaining national unity and integration, the governor encouraged corps members to engage in research and actively contribute to these objectives.
He also praised the NYSC management for its teamwork, expressing confidence that this approach would ensure the success of the orientation program.
Dr. Kefas reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the NYSC in achieving its goals, emphasizing that the state would continue to provide necessary assistance to the scheme.
The event also featured the administration of the National Pledge and Oath of Allegiance to the corps members by the representative of the state’s Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John D. Yakubu.
