Taraba Rotarian Oliver Jerry Supports Abia Lawmakers for Repealing Ex-Govs' Pensions

from Taraba State Northeast Nigeria has said he is in full support of Abia State Law-

makers who he noted

signed a Bill for a Law re-

pealing the ex Governors

and their Deputies from

receiving Pensions.


Oliver Jerry, who stated

this Weekend while speaking exclusively in Jalingo shortly after an Award-giving Event, "Taraba's 20 most

Influential Youths", said

such acts are other means of syphoning the Nation's economic resources, Expressing dismay over the atitude of some state governments paying Pensions to former Governors and their deputies, he disclosed that such acts amounts to waste of Government resources.

"It makes no sense for

somebody to serve as

Governor or Deputy for

four years or eight years

and receive Pension, and

the Amount they receive,

career Civil Servants that

serve for thirty five (35)

years don't receive such

Amount.

"This is another way of continuing the looting

of our common economic resources.


"It's not the best and it's

not good for our democ-

racy and putting a stop to

such practice will improve the economy and development off the State", he said. While calling on Governments, Houses of Assembly from other States

to emulate Abia State Legislators andGovernment,

the Rotarian opined that

efforts should be intensi-

fied to put a stop to what

he described as, 'this criminal way of syphoning the Nation's economy' Speaking on his philanthropic life style, impacting on the most vulnerable

persons in the Society thatearned him an Award, Rotarian Oliver Jerry said he feel fulfilled rendering assistance to the Needy.

If you are not able to

manage this hungry in the land very well, these same people that are vulnerable today, will become the Society  problem tomorrow.


So, it will be good for

people to queue together

and begin to help others.
