Barr. Yakubu Maikasuwa SAN, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Taraba State, has refuted recent claims circulating in the press regarding the appointment of a new Chief of Takum. According to Maikasuwa, the process to select the next Chief of Takum has not yet commenced.
In a telephone interview with Taraba News, the commissioner emphasized that, the responsibility for selecting the next chief lies with the ruling houses and the kingmakers, not the state government. Maikasuwa assured the public that the government will uphold due process in the selection procedure, awaiting the decision of the ruling houses and king selectors before granting final approval.
Furthermore, Maikasuwa urged media outlets to verify their information thoroughly to avoid disseminating misleading reports, emphasizing the importance of journalistic integrity in informing the public accurately.
