Imagine trying to learn while sitting on a bare floor or standing throughout the day. This is the harsh reality for many students at Ambaliya Community School in Jalingo, where a severe shortage of chairs is making education a daily struggle.
On February 18, 2025, the Nigerian Women Lead Team took a crucial step towards change by donating chairs and writing materials to the school. However, as we celebrated this small victory, one truth became painfully clear: the problem is far from solved.
A Classroom is in Crisis
During our visit, we witnessed students forced to sit on broken furniture, the floor, or even share a single chair among three or four classmates. Teachers do their best under these conditions, but how can students focus on learning when they are uncomfortable and distracted?
We acknowledge the government’s efforts to improve education infrastructure, but progress has been slow. Students deserve better. They deserve dignity. They deserve seats in their classrooms.
We Can’t Wait – Action is Needed NOW! According to the group.
They are calling on the government, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to join them in solving this crisis.
🚨 Here’s what must be done immediately the group said,
One is Emergency Fund Allocation: The government should provide urgent funding to procure chairs for Ambaliya Community School.
• secondLong-Term Infrastructure Plan: A sustainable strategy must be developed to ensure all schools have adequate furniture.
• Community Collaboration: Authorities must work with local organizations, community leaders, and NGOs to identify and resolve these challenges.
The group emphases that Education Shouldn’t Be a Hardship – It’s a Right!
They said No child should have to struggle to learn because of inadequate classroom conditions. The future of our children depends on the actions we take today.
📢 "Join us in raising awareness and demanding urgent solutions. Share this message, reach out to policymakers, and support this cause in any way you can" The group said

Together, we can transform classrooms, empower students, and build a stronger future for Jalingo’s children!
In a similar development the group Empowering the Future: Nigerian Women Lead Team to Champions Girls' Health & Education in Jalingo
Jalingo, the Taraba State capital on March 20, 2025.
In a bold and inspiring move to empower teenage girls, the Nigerian Women Lead Team (NWL) has successfully executed a life-changing initiative—the Teenage Girls' Sex Education and Sanitary Pad Distribution Program—at Government Day Secondary School, Sabon Gari, Jalingo.
The event wasn’t just about handing out sanitary pads—it was a movement to break the silence surrounding sex education, menstrual hygiene, and reproductive health. With over 300 students, teachers, and community leaders in attendance, this initiative sparked critical conversations and provided young girls with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.
Breaking Barriers, Changing Lives
For far too long, myths, stigma, and misinformation have kept young girls in the dark about their own bodies. But on this remarkable day, education became a tool for empowerment, not shame.
Beyond One Day: A Lasting Impact
The excitement was electric—students left smiling, empowered, and eager to share their newfound knowledge. The principals and teachers expressed their deep gratitude, pledging to integrate reproductive health discussions into everyday school life.
But the most unforgettable moment? The look of pure relief and gratitude on the faces of the girls as they received 500 free sanitary pads—a small gift with a big impact in ensuring no girl misses school due to menstruation.
Challenges & A Call for Support
The success of this project was undeniable, but the journey is far from over. Limited resources, cultural taboos, and financial constraints still stand in the way of reaching more girls.
🚀 How YOU Can Help:
✅ Donate to keep this initiative alive – More funding means more pads, more education, and more impact.
✅ Join the conversation – Let’s normalize discussions on menstrual and sexual health.
✅ Partner with us – NGOs, health professionals, and corporate sponsors can amplify this mission to reach even more girls.
Together, We Can Create a Future Where Every Girl Thrives!
The Nigerian Women Lead Team (NWL) is committed to ensuring that no girl is left behind, and this is just the beginning.
