Ahead of the next month's International Investment Summit to be hosted by the Taraba State Government, Gov Agbu Kefas this Saturday inaugurated the main and local organizing committees of the Summit.
The event was held at the Exco Chamber, TY Danjuma House Jalingo and attended by several top government functionaries from within and outside the state.
Speaking at the occasion Dr. Agbu Kefas, said the proposed International Investment Summit in the state is a powerful platform for showcasing the State's natural resources to the outside world.
Dr Agbu Kefas, described Taraba as blessed with unparalleled natural resources which creates an investment landscape ready for global investment.
The Governor said the state is positioned to lead sustainable development and the forthcoming summit is expected to serve as a great platform to showcase the state’s potential to the world.
He disclosed that the Committees, which consist of professionals, are saddled with the responsibility of organising not only a world-class event but a transformative event for the future of Taraba state.
He charged them to leverage one another’s strength, be open to suggestions and equally operate in the spirit of partnership and unity.
In an acceptance speech, the Chairman of the International Investment Summit, Rt Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, appreciated Governor Kefas and the people of Taraba for their confidence in him and other members of the committee to successfully organise the Investment Summit.
He said the Summit is imperative and is coming at a time when the African continent is in dire need of economic rediscovery.
Elumelu explained that the Summit would market homegrown technologies and investment opportunities in mining, forestry, game reserves, housing, healthcare, education, water resources, transportation, aviation, and industrialization, among others.
He charged every member of the committee to work diligently and effectively to meet the expectations of the assignment.
