Mambilla Beverages MD Position: Group Writes Gov Kefas A Passionate Appeal for the Appointment of a Competent Indigenous MD

 

Your Excellency, Sir.

AN URGENT CALL FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF MAMBILLA PLATEAU INDIGENE FOR APPOINTMENT AS MANAGING DIRECTOR, MAMBILLA BEVERAGES PRODUCTION COMPANY LTD, KAKARA 

We as Concerned Sardauna Youths and Kakara Society Observers; humbly write to passionately and peacefully plead with your good office, to consider the appointment of a competent and eminently qualified personality to the position of MD, Mambilla Beverages Production Company Ltd.

We  chose to use  this medium of communication because we think it's the means we can make our plea reach out to you. Our Agitation is an outcome of a prolonged marginalization of our people in managerial positions at the company, despite the fact that we are the immediate host community and our parents contributed the land for the cultivation of the tea in the 1970s and 1980s.

Your Excellency Sir, our demand is substantiated on the following grounds:

1. Since the establishment of the company in 1982 (43 years ago), we had only Person who served as MD for barely two (2) years (2003-2004) till date.

2. The Mambilla Beverages Production Company Ltd Kakara is currently faced with a lot of industrial disputes ranging from agitation for minimum wage, Labour -Management disharmony over unsettled wages, poor community engagement amongst others.

3. Unprecedented contractions of Tea Farms and encroachments into some parts of uncultivated lands belonging to the Company by Farmers & herders.

4. Low capacity utilization of the factory to produce more products for the increasing market of the products locally and internationally.

Me Governor Sir, it is apparent that all these challenges facing our dear Company can only be better mitigated by a CEO, who have better understanding of the local host community and rising needs of the Labourers. 

On this note, we observe that anymore CEO coming from beyond the Mambilla Plateau may not continuously get the support of the over 1,000 Staff & Labourers of the company.

Based on our understanding of your disposition as a True Democrat, we are confident that our voice (of over 10,000 Concerned Sardauna Youths) cannot go unheard.

While we assure you that we will continue to be peaceful in agitating for our demand, we will also reciprocate in manifolds come 2027 if our demand is made.
