In a move that is purposed to catapult Taraba State's socio-economic development to unprecedented heights, Governor Agbu Kefas has appointed Mr. Paul Maigida Tino as the new Director-General of the Taraba State Resource Centre. This strategic decision is expected to fortify the state's research, training, and capacity-building capabilities, ultimately benefiting public servants, educators, and other stakeholders.
Born on September 9, 1966, in Sabongida Tukura, Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Mr. Tino boasts an impressive educational background and a distinguished career in public service. His academic odyssey began at Sabongida Tukura Primary School in 1974, followed by stints at Government Teachers College, Gembu, and Government Science School, Donga, where he obtained his GCE in 1986.
Mr. Tino's insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education, earning a Diploma in Animal Health from the College of Agriculture, Jalingo, in 1989, and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Animal Science, Fisheries, and Range Management from the Federal University of Technology Yola in 1999. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Administration from the University of Calabar and a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Federal University, Yola.
With over three decades of experience in public service, Mr. Tino has held various positions, including Livestock Superintendent, Assistant Electoral Officer, Electoral Officer, and Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at the State Emergency Management Agency. His exemplary leadership skills earned him the appointment as Head of the Civil Service of Taraba State on February 3, 2024, a position he held until his retirement on February 3, 2025.
The Taraba State Resource Centre is designed to provide a centralized platform for research, training, and capacity building, addressing the current gaps in governance, public administration, and socio-economic development. As the new Director-General, Mr. Tino is expected to leverage his expertise and experience to drive the centre's mandate and promote innovative solutions for the state's development.
