In a vibrant ceremony that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Adamawa State, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Ahmadu Ribadu was coronated as the first Emir of the newly created Fufore Emirate on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The historic event was attended by dignitaries from various walks of life, including government officials, diplomats, captains of industries, and traditional rulers from within and beyond Adamawa State.
The creation of the Fufore Emirate is part of the Adamawa State government's efforts to reposition traditional institutions for more robust and inclusive governance. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who presented the Staff of Office (Second-Class) to Emir Ribadu, emphasized that the creation of the emirates was driven by the government's genuine intention to strengthen traditional institutions and promote peace, security, and development across the state.
The Fufore Emirate is one of the seven new emirates and chiefdoms created by the Adamawa State government. The emirate is headquartered in Fufore, a local government area in Adamawa State. In his acceptance speech, Emir Ribadu expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for the appointment, promising to serve his people diligently. "I assure you that under my leadership, everyone will be treated equally without fear or favour," he stated, calling for maximum support from the people to enable him to discharge his duties effectively.
Governor Fintiri congratulated Emir Ribadu and the people of the Fufore Emirate, urging them to support the Emir in dispensing justice and fostering togetherness towards nurturing the emirate to greatness. He highlighted that Ribadu's appointment was based on merit and called on him to lead with wisdom, foster unity, and strengthen local security through intelligence gathering.
