Ten years ago, Joshua donated bone marrow to his father, David, 57, who was battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a severe cancer affecting the immune system. Recently, David's health took a turn for the worse when he developed chronic kidney disease, a complication of his past chemotherapy treatments. Joshua, who was traveling in Australia at the time, immediately flew back to London, UK, to be with his father.
Without hesitation, Joshua underwent testing and was found to be a compatible kidney donor. The two underwent successful kidney transplant surgery at the prestigious Royal Free Hospital. Joshua's selfless kidney donation has given his father a second chance at life.
