The Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas, was among the dignitaries and prominent Nigerians that graced the Coronation ceremony and presentation of staff of office to the Ptil Madagali, in Adamawa State.
The event was held at Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state and the country home of the Governor of Adamawa state, Rt Hon Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri.
On the occasion, the Governor of Adamawa state, Rt. Hon. Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, described the coronation of the new Chief as an affirmation of fairness and justice, which his administration stood for.
He explained that his administration has strived to restore peace, stability, and hope to the people, adding that the new Chiefdom is timely as traditional institutions reflect the people's history.
In his response, the Ptil Madagali, HRH Dr Ali Danburam, pledged to uphold justice, fairness and welfare of the people.
He also pledged to work with the government to promote peace and promote the rich cultural heritage of the area.
In a goodwill message, the former Governor of Adamawa state, Bala James Ngilari, said the creation of the Chiefdom is a necessary change that should be accepted and celebrated by all for the progress of the state.
He enjoined the new chief to take the issue of security with all seriousness.
The occasion featured various cultural displays and durbar among others.
