Sadiq Abbas Tafida made a case for the Mambila Plateau during the budget defense.

The need to harness the rich tourism potential of the Mambilla Plateau by the federal government has been emphasized. The member representing Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Sadiq Abbas Tafida, stressed this during the budget defense when the Director General of the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, appeared before the House Committee on Tourism. The legislator, who is a committee member on tourism, said that the Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State has potential that, if properly harnessed, could support the entire country. Sadiq Tafida pointed out that it would benefit Nigeria if the DG of the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism took a tour of the Mambilla Plateau to discover its endowed natural resources. He cited countries such as Italy and Spain, stating that if they can develop their tourism sites to attract visitors from around the globe, this too can be replicated in Nigeria, particularly at the Mambilla Plateau, to generate more income for the country. He challenged the Director-General of the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, to extend the scope of his activities to Taraba State. In response, the DG of the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, appreciated the House committee member for drawing his attention to the need to visit the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba as part of his duties, with a view to harnessing its vast potential.
