Few persons including the Village Head of Gomu community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area, Abinadam Wakili have reportedly killed following a dispute over farmland that was destroyed.
Reports gathered indicated that the incident occurred on Sunday when the victim Abinadam Wakili who the Fulani was said to have destroyed his farmland went to observe the farm and to guard against the activities of the Fulani finally met his Waterloo.
According to findings,while missing after a day,the dead body of Abinadam Wakili was found in his farm resulting to the reprisal attack on the Fulani people who were said to be the mastermind of the killing.
Confirming the situation,the Taraba State Police Public Relation Officer,PPRO,DSP,Gambo Kwache said the Village Head was found dead after search by his relation which was later found with blood in the farm suspected to have been killed by assailants.
DSP Gambo Kwache revealed that when the deceased was found it was reported to the Police whose corpse is deposited at the General Hospital in the Area for more investigations.
Gambo Kwache said join security operatives have since been mobilized to the affected area to forestall future reoccurrence,charging the people to be calm and be at peace with one another in the interest of development.
When contacted Chairman Karim Lamido Local Government Council,Bitrus Danjos expressed serious concern and appealed to both communities to sheath sword for the sake of peace to thrive.
Bitrus revealed that upon hearing the incident the council has swung into action by mobilizing team of security to calm situation.
He reassured the Council's commitment to ensuring peace is restored to the Local Government by engaging necessary machinery.
