Taraba Governor Sends Off Pilgrims, Emphasizes Unity and Responsibility

 

In a poignant ceremony held in Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba State, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, was represented by the Special Adviser on Islamic Religious Affairs, Malam Hussaini Ismail, at a farewell event for the intending pilgrims bound for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event, which served as a platform for Governor Kefas to convey his farewell message to the pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey of Hajj, was marked by sentiments of unity, responsibility, and spiritual guidance.

Addressing the gathering of pilgrims, Governor Kefas expressed his profound pleasure in bidding farewell to the individuals embarking on the spiritual voyage to the holy land. He extended a warm welcome to the pilgrims in Jalingo, affirming his commitment as their Chief Host to ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay in the pilgrimage camp. Governor Kefas underscored the government's dedication to providing essential facilities, including medical services, to cater to the needs of the pilgrims during their journey.

Highlighting the significance of the Hajj pilgrimage, Governor Kefas emphasized the importance of religious tolerance and unity among people of different faiths. Despite financial constraints, the Taraba State Government sponsored a significant number of individuals, exemplifying its commitment to supporting religious endeavors and fostering harmony within the community.

Governor Kefas urged the pilgrims to serve as ambassadors of peace and goodwill, both for the state and the nation at large, during their time in the holy land. He encouraged them to pray fervently for the prosperity and tranquility of the nation, emphasizing the shared values of Islam and Christianity in promoting peace and understanding.

In his closing remarks, Malam Hussaini Ismail, representing Governor Kefas, expressed gratitude for the Governor's sponsorship of 117 individuals to perform Hajj, and he urged the pilgrims to pray for Governor Kefas and the well-being of Taraba State.
