TSU VICE-CHANCELLOR MEETS ASUU EXCO TO AVERT STRIKE ACTION

 


The Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Professor Prof. Sunday Paul Bako and the University Management team, met with ASUU EXCO to discuss the ongoing industrial dispute and avert the looming strike action.


The meeting, which was held on Friday, 30th May, 2024, at the University's Senate Chamber, was attended by representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University Chapter.


During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor listened to the concerns of the union members and addressed the issues raised, including pension scheme, unpaid salaries and allowances. He assured the Union that Pension for University staff is no longer a concern as the University staff records have been incorporated into the state pension. He further assured the members that the University Management is in touch with Excellency, Governor, Agbu Kefas in finding a lasting solution to the problems and improving the welfare of staff.


In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor said, "I am pleased that we could have this meeting and discuss the issues affecting our staff. We are committed to finding a solution that works for everyone and ensures the smooth running of the University."


The union members appreciated the Vice-Chancellor's willingness to engage in dialogue and expressed their commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
