Abuja, Nigeria - April 4, 2024 - Today marks a significant moment in the journey towards regional integration and cooperation in West Africa as Sen. David S.U. Jimkuta was inaugurated as a member of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament.
The ECOWAS Parliament, also known as the Community Parliament, serves as a crucial forum for dialogue, consultation, and consensus-building among representatives of the people of West Africa, with the overarching goal of promoting integration and unity within the subregion.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the International Conference Center in Abuja, was graced by the esteemed presence of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, along with other distinguished dignitaries including the President of the Senate, His Excellency, Godswill Akpabio, the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Jibrin Barau, and the Honorable Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
Sen. Jimkuta expresses his profound gratitude for the opportunity to serve in this esteemed capacity and pledges his unwavering commitment to working collaboratively with his colleagues towards fostering unity and promoting economic integration within the ECOWAS subregion.
