GOVERNOR KEFAS COMMISSIONS SCHOOL BUS, FURNITURE AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

 



Seeking to advance the cause of quality education accessible to all, Governor Abgu Kefas of Taraba State today oversaw the commissioning of a school bus, furniture, and instructional materials at Government Day Secondary School Kudong, located in Zing LGA.


Representing the governor, Dr. Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner of Education, was instrumental in the official ceremonies.


Dr. Augustina embarked on a journey through the challenging terrain of Bitako-Yali and Kudong in Zing LGA, engaging with school communities and overseeing the commissioning of essential educational resources on behalf of Governor Kefas.


Upon arrival at GDSS Bitako-Yali, Dr. Augustina was warmly welcomed by the school's principal, Mr. Elihu Baleri, staff, students, and members of the community. The principal took the opportunity to address the pressing issues faced by the school, such as inadequate access to drinking water, exam halls, and classrooms.


Moving forward, the Commissioner proceeded to GDSS Kugong for a significant event marking the commissioning of a school bus, furniture, and instructional materials. The overwhelming support from students, teachers, local vigilantes, and the entire community highlighted the collective commitment to education in Taraba State.


During the ceremonies, the school's principal, Miss Janet Josiah, expressed gratitude for the community's contributions towards supporting Governor Kefas' impactful educational initiatives. She praised the Governor's commitment to free education, emphasizing the positive impact on students and parents alike.


Acknowledging the contributions of key figures to the school's success, Janet appealed for the school's upgrade, a request promptly granted by Governor Kefas.


In response, Commissioner Augustina conveyed the Governor's appreciation for the community's dedication to education. She assured them of ongoing efforts to address the identified challenges and emphasized Governor Kefas' unwavering commitment to transforming the education sector in Taraba State.


The event featured vibrant displays, including marches, cultural performances, and messages of goodwill from various stakeholders. Notable attendees included the Ministry's ICT Director, Mr. Dennis Bello, ASUSS Women's Commission Chairperson Felicia David Luka, and other prominent figures from the region.


The occasion celebrated the collaborative spirit driving educational progress in Taraba State, underlining the importance of collective efforts towards realizing Governor Kefas' vision for accessible and high-quality education for all residents.
