Joy, happiness and excitment in Gembu when the new Gembu Electrification was tested yesterday. The town has been without light for over 20 years now, it was gathered that the last time light was seen in the town was when the current SGS was the Chairman of the local government.
The installed two 1,500KVa Generating plants in Gembu is expected to provide Electrification to Gembu and it's environ and may be officially Commission soon.
Our correspondent who visited the site of the installation when it was been tested yesterday said people describe it as quality equipments and work done to ensure effective execution of the project was done timely
He was taken round the facility by the Engineers on the site and he inspected the entire plant.
Earlier Chief Kataps the Secretary to Government of the State had visited the site of the project and made observations, suggested relevant ideas and insisted that the project contractors must deliver the project as scheduled for power to reach the entire local government headquarters.
Taraba News gathered that This is the first phase of the project.
He thanked the Governor for considering Mambilla Plateau in his developmental plans for the state and assured those in his team that Dr Agbu Kefas sees developing Sardauna Local Government as a widow beyond political preferences, rather it is for the shared prosperity and future of Taraba State.
While addressing newsmen, Chief Gebon recalled that such electrification gestures was only experienced while he was the local government council Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Area for the second and third time some twenty three years ago. He added also that the provision of power to Gembu will boost productivity, tourism and ease on the plateau.
The SGS was accompanied by Hon Gideon Nonso, the Commissioner of Digital Economy and Innovation, Hon John Titong, the PDP Chairman Sardauna Local Government Area and the host of other state and local functionaries. Lastly, the SGS expressed optimism that the project will serve a lofty purpose beyond local expectations.
