The first-ever Taraba State International Investment Summit also known as TRAVEST has been fixed for the 21st May, 2025 in Jalingo the State capital.
The Chairman of the main Committee, Rt Hon. Ndudi Elumelu stated this Saturday while fielding questions from Journalists at TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.
Hon. Elumelu who doubles was a former chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Power told Journalists that the summit would feature prospective investors from both local and international cadre ranging from Agriculture, Energy, Industrialization, among other sectors of the economy.
On Energy, according to him, as the former chairman House of Representatives Committee on Power, Elumelu said he has observed that the Mambilla Hydro Electric Dam is capable of generating about 12,000 mega watts of electricity.
He added that those who would want go there and invest are free to do so.
“Of course on Mining, we have huge deposits of different types, focusing on gold, uranium, and others”,
“On Industrialization, I don’t think that anybody coming for Industrialization sector in Taraba will have issues, why because the Governor has been able to achieve much in the infrastructural development in the state” he added.
Speaking on how safe the State is for prospective investors, Hon. Elumelu said, “We have gone round on inspection, and Taraba is safe, Taraba is calm, Taraba is very friendly to Investors, they should not be afraid”.
Our Correspondent gathered that the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has earlier unveiled the logo for the summit at the Executive chambers of TY Danjuma House Jalingo where he told the gathering that the event will showcase the state’s untapped potentials to the would be investors.
Presenting the logo before the gathering Governor Kefas reiterated the significance of the logo saying, it will serve as the state’s banner while engaging with investors, partners, and opinion leaders.
Stating that the summit would signify the beginning of a new economic era for Taraba State, the Governor further disclosed that the event was aimed at wooing foreign investors to the state.
Kefas who, described the Summit as the first since the creation of the State opined that all hands must be on deck for it to succeed.
