Taraba Governor Urges Corps Members to Contribute to State’s Growth

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has called on members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch A Stream 1 deployed to the state to contribute their quota towards building a greater and more sustainable Taraba.

Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Emmanuel Lawson Hassan, the governor made the call during the official opening ceremony of the NYSC orientation course in Jalingo.

Dr. Kefas urged the corps members to be law-abiding, security-conscious, and committed to the ideals of the NYSC bye-laws and Act. He emphasized that adhering to these principles would foster mutual understanding between them and their host communities, enabling them to perform their duties effectively.

“Taraba is a land of opportunities. We urge you to serve with commitment and help spread the message of hope and development,” he stated, adding that corps members can play a crucial role in attracting investors, tourists, and industrialists to the state.

Also speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Ella Aji Williams, welcomed dignitaries and assured corps members of a conducive environment for their service year. He reaffirmed the commitment of the NYSC management to ensure the smooth execution of all scheduled orientation activities.

The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the Oath of Allegiance to the new corps members by the representative of the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Nuhu Adi.

The orientation exercise marks the beginning of the one-year mandatory national service for the corps members, who are expected to contribute to various sectors across the state during their deployment.
