Nigeria Army 6 Brigade Hosts 3rd Inter Brigade Corporal and Below Competition



The Nigeria Army 6 Brigade Headquarters Hosts the 3rd Inter Brigade Corporal and Below Competition. The competition is scheduled to hold from Monday April 28th to Saturday 3rd May 2025. The opening ceremony was held at the 20 Model Battalion Serti, Baruwa, Gashaka Taraba State. Participants from the 6 Brigade Nigeria Army Jalingo, 23 Brigade Yola, 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, 3 Division Garrison Jos, 43 Engineer Brigade Jos and 53 Signal Brigade, Plateau are expected to partake in marching, swimming and other drilling exercises. In his opening speech, Brigadier General Kingsley C. Uwa, Commander 6 Brigade Nigeria Army representing the special guest of honor Major General EF Oyinlola, the General Commanding Officer 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe acclaimed that the prestigious occasion is taking place for the first time in Taraba State. He commended the Nigeria Army for sustaining the tradition of holding the event annually which serves as a platform for sharpening the combat skills, leadership qualities and resilience among soldiers of lower ranks.

He further stated that the competition reflected the Nigeria Army's commitment to professionalism, discipline, and excellence in service.

He opined that the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General OO Oluyede has continued to strengthen the capacity of the Nigeria Army to curb emergency security threats.

He also applauded the executive governor of Taraba State His Excellency Agbu Kefas for his support to the military and other security agencies in the discharge of their numerous responsibilities. He admonished the participants to put in their best and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and utilize the avenue to learn and build the strength that defines the Nigeria Army.
