Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Taraba State Council, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen has encouraged Journalists to be dutiful in carrying out their activities in the state.
The Chairman stated during the inauguration of newly elected officials of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Taraba news and SUM TV Chapel in Jalingo.
Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen said as professions, Journalists should ensure they work in tenent with the ethical codes of Journalism.
The Chairman said the birth of the Taraba News and SUM TV Chapel is a plus to the Council,and encouraged the members to work in accordance with the constitution of the NUJ.
He Congratulated the officials and wished them well in their tenure of office.
Speaking the Former Chairman NUJ Taraba State Council and Director News and Current Affairs, Taraba State Broadcasting Service TSBS Jalingo, Comrade Abdullahi Gambo stressed the need for Journalists to be objective in their reportage.
Abdullahi Gambo reminded the Journalists that the advent of Artificial intelligence,AI calls for resilience to meet up with the present reality in the society.
Earlier,the Chief Executive Officer of Taraba News and SUM TV Gabriel Olayinka recalled that the journey has not been easy but appreciated all who contributed towards the realization the new chapel.
Those Inaugurated are Gabriel Olayinka chairman, Livinus Jesse Ayih vice chairman, Iranyang Daniel as Secretary,and Lilian Gbana Yakubu Treasurer.
Others are Lazarus Meshach as Internal auditor,Ayuba Theresa as Financial Secretary and Bridget James as assistant Secretary.
