Taraba State University's Faculty of Engineering Holds Historic Inauguration and Induction Ceremony

 



Taraba State University's Faculty of Engineering has successfully hosted its inaugural public lecture, graduate induction, and inauguration of students. The milestone event, which marked a significant step forward for the faculty, was attended by distinguished guests, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Jonathan Rubean, and the Registrar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu.


In his welcome remarks, Prof. Rubean applauded Prof. Nicholas Oliver Namessan, the pioneer engineer and former dean of the faculty, for his pivotal role in establishing the faculty. He also announced that the Faculty of Engineering has secured full accreditation and approval for the Mining and Processing Engineering program from the National Universities Commission (NUC).


The event featured a keynote address by Engr. Prof. Aondoyila Kuhe, who emphasized the importance of Mechanical Engineering in advancing renewable energy in Nigeria. Other notable speakers included Prof. Nicholas Oliver Namessan and Engr. Alhassan Abdu Mohammed, National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineering.


The ceremony also saw the presentation of certificates to inductees, marking their formal induction into the engineering profession. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Engr. Dr. Akila Istifanus, commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, for his tireless efforts in securing high standards in COREN accreditation.
