In a proactive move to support the fight against the Lassa fever outbreak, the Taraba State Ministry of Health has donated essential medical items and consumables to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo. The donation was officially presented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Chufor K. Harmony, as part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare facilities in disease response and management.
Receiving the items, the Medical Director Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, expressed her gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the supplies would play a crucial role in enhancing the hospital’s ability to combat Lassa fever. She reassured that the hospital remains committed to providing comprehensive treatment for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care from admission to discharge in line with established healthcare standards and protocols.
The Medical Director extended her appreciation to the Executive Governor of Taraba State and the Secretary to the State Government for their prompt response to the hospital’s request for assistance in managing the Lassa fever outbreak.
The Head of Service, Dr. Ahmed Ahmadu Kara, and the Director of Epidemiology were also present during the presentation.
