RCCN Mourns the Loss of Visionary Pastor Rev. Kenan Burba

 


From Atlanta, Georgia, USA on February 6, 2025, the Reformed Christian Church of Nigeria (RCCN) USA community gathered to bid a final farewell to Rev. Kenan Burba, a pioneering figure in the RCCN's expansion into the United States. The solemn interment ceremony took place at Haynes Creek Church, 3995 Rosebud Road, Loganville, GA 30052, Atlanta, Georgia.

Rev. Kenan Burba's remarkable life and legacy were celebrated by dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers who traveled from far and wide to pay their respects. His tireless efforts to establish the RCCN denomination in the USA will always be remembered.  Earlier in the days leading to the funeral, Rev. R. M Andemun, the General Secretary of the RCCN, released a statement conveying the church's heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Rev. Kenan Burba. Rev. Andemun praised Rev. Burba's remarkable life and legacy, highlighting his tireless efforts to establish the RCCN denomination in the USA . 

The statement read: "We mourn the loss of a true servant of God, who dedicated his life to spreading the gospel and advancing the kingdom of God. Rev. Burba's commitment to the growth and development of the church was unwavering, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come."

Rev. Andemun also acknowledged Rev. Burba's role as a pioneering figure in the RCCN's expansion into the USA, saying: "His selfless devotion to the cause of Christ has left an indelible mark on our church and the community at large."

The RCCN General Secretary concluded the statement by expressing his gratitude to Rev. Burba's family for their support and encouragement throughout his ministry, saying: "We pray that God will comfort and strengthen you during this difficult time, and that you will find solace in the knowledge that Rev. Burba's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched."

The funeral service was a tribute to Rev. Burba's unwavering faith, his commitment to the community, and his nurturing spirit. Powerful eulogies and hymns of hope filled the air, underscoring a life deeply rooted in Christian values.

Rev. Kenan Burba's family, including his wife, Mrs. Juliana Kenan, and their children, stood united in their grief, yet proud of the legacy he left behind. His children, Mr. Rimamskeb Kenan, Mr. Remy Rimamfxen Kenan, Mrs. Fxafatirimam Atizwun Kenan, Mr. Christian Kenan, Ms. Zion Kenan, and Ms. Glory Kenan, played a vital role in ensuring their father's final journey was a fitting tribute to his remarkable life.

As the RCCN USA community mourns the loss of Rev. Kenan Burba, they also celebrate his vision, perseverance, and dedication to spreading the gospel. His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate generations to come.

In a separate ceremony, Rev. Kenan Burba was also honored in his hometown at the RCCN, Lumbu Rikwenrika, Ussa LGA, Taraba state, Nigeria. The dual ceremonies reflected the profound impact Rev. Burba had on both his local community and the global RCCN family.
