Excitement fills Jalingo as it celebrates Dr. Lamido Tukur Abba Tukur's 40th Anniversary as Galadima Muri.

 

The ceremony was nothing short of a remarkable success, drawing dignitaries and well-wishers from far and wide. It was a clear demonstration of the profound respect and admiration that the people have for Lamido Tukur. 

I had the honor of attending the ceremony at the Patience Event Centre, which was filled to capacity with enthusiastic attendees, including family members and friends, all gathered to show their appreciation for a leader who has dedicated his life to the service of his community. 

The atmosphere was electrifying, filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt tributes, showcasing the love that the people of Jalingo have for their Galadima.

In addition to the ceremony, another great highlight of the celebration was the spectacular horse riding event. Dr. Tukur and his entourage engaged in this traditional display, majestically riding through the ancient city of Jalingo. 

This event served as a powerful reminder of the rich cultural heritage and history that is woven into the fabric of our community. The sight of the horses galloping through the streets, adorned with colorful decorations, was a spectacular feast for the eyes and a delightful experience for all.

Such events not only commemorate milestones but also serve to reinforce the bonds of tradition, culture, and community. It is a testament to the deep-rooted customs that continue to thrive in Jalingo, while simultaneously celebrating the achievements and contributions of notable figures like Dr. Lamido Tukur Abba Tukur.

Another significant segment of the celebration was the award presentation to prominent late elders of Jalingo who contributed significantly to the community. This poignant tribute brought hope and brightness to the community, honoring the memories of those who have passed on.
