As the boat rowed across the historic water body, the imageries of Jesus Christ and His disciples years ago floated through your mind. Like those disciples of old, you are almost tempted to walk on water. You see the boisterousness of the sea and feel the hostile cold wrap itself around you. Yet, you are fear free, assured of safe landing.
Earlier before the ride, Rev Emmanuel Bambur had prayed fervently for us. He invoked divine protection and decreed that the same way Jesus Christ silenced the waves of the ranging seas back then, our personal life's storms will be quietened.
Also, in his exhortation, Taraba state acting CAN chairman, Rev. Alyuda spoke on the need for Christians to stay focused. He noted that distraction can sink a believer but that a steady faith in the power of the Lord will always tide us over the tempest of life.
On this voyage, no one was tempted to walk on the waters. But the speed boat carrying us kept us afloat as we sang songs of praise and focused on Christ. It is noteworthy, too, that the organizers played the Nigerian national anthem and waved our Green White Green flag. There was also prayer for Nigeria to cross over its current storms.
