The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, has officially commissioned Dr. Agbu Kefas NYSC Corps' Lodge and handed the facility to the Taraba State NYSC Coordinator.

 




The facility was built by the Speaker for the benefit of Corp members serving in his home town Yakoko, Zing Local Government area of Taraba State. 


 The ceremony took place on Thursday and a mammoth crowd gathered to witness the event. 


Commissioning the facility which he named, "Dr. Agbu Kefas NYSC Lodge" the Speaker, John Kizito Bonzena said nothing he would do for his constituents that will be too much, as he derives fulfilment in seeing the lives of his people get better by the day, stressing that he will stop at nothing to sustain the tempo as long as he has the means.


He called on the community members to support the corp members to make their stay palatable and charged corps members to take care of the facility to ensure it serves the purposes intended.


The Chairman Zing Local Government Council, Titus Davoro  expressed gratitude to the Speaker for his selflessness and dedication to his constituency by coming up with laudable projects that will stand the test of time.


He said the people of Zing are privileged to have him as their representative at the State Assembly and urged the corps members to take proper care of the facility as though it were their personal property to ensure its durability.  


In a goodwill message, the majority leader of the State House of Assembly, Jethro Yakubu Zikengyu said the people of Zing are lucky to have someone like John Kizito Bonzena represent them at the State House of Assembly and encouraged them to hold Kizito in high esteem, as well as give him the necessary support to keep enjoying more of such developments in their community.


On his part, the NYSC State Coordinator, Ella Aji Williams expressed gratitude to the Speaker for meeting one of the greatest needs of all corps members assuring him that the facility will not be under utilized but well managed and maintained to ensure its durability.


Ella Williams said in reciprocation adequate number of Corpers will be henceforth posted to Yakoko community.  


Some corps members showered praises on the Speaker for what they described as a  magnanimous gesture which they said would make their stay even more enjoyable, assuring of their commitment to take proper care of the facility.


A student from Government Day Secondary Yakoko presented a brief citation of the speaker and his  achievements in the community.


In a vote of thanks, Mr. Isaac Konti, a representative of the District head of Yakoko said the people are happy and full of gratitude to the speaker for always having the people at heart by ensuring that the community moves ahead in terms of development.


 He prayed God to continue to bless and prosper the speaker.
