Shummmuyang Humanitarian foundation Supports Local Students on International Day of Education

 



As the world came together to celebrates the United Nations International Day of Education, individuals and organizations around the globe are came together to promote the importance of quality education for all. In a rapidly changing world, education remains a cornerstone of development, empowerment, and progress. It is in the light of this that a philanthropist who is making a difference in the lives of students in her community in Taraba state and beyond. 


In commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Education, the Convener of Shummmunyang Humanitarian Foundation, Mrs. Kibong Stephen (JP), organized an event for students and pupils in her neighborhood. The celebration, held on January 26, 2025, brought together students, teachers, and pupils from local schools.


In her keynote address, Mrs. Stephen emphasized the importance of embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, while preserving human agency in the learning process. She stressed that adapting to emerging technologies is crucial for development and that AI should complement, rather than replace, the essential human elements of learning.


The event featured the distribution of instructional materials and sanitary pads to students and pupils. Mrs. Stephen encouraged the students to study hard, promote peace, and unity in their communities.


The United Nations International Day of Education is celebrated annually on January 24. This year's theme, "AI and Education: Learning to harness the potential of AI for quality education," highlights the need to harness the potential of AI to improve education.
