*Taraba Commissioner Of Information, Barr. Jalingo Congratulates Yough*1
The Commissioner for Information and Reorientation in Taraba State, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, has congratulated Gabriel Yough, the Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on his reelection as Chairman of the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel in the state.
Jalingo conveyed her message through Hon. Nelson Dimas, an adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas, during a gathering organized by friends to celebrate Comrade Gabriel Yough, which took place in Jalingo on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
She also extended her congratulations to the other newly elected officials of the chapel for their success in the election.
The Commissioner reassured the new leadership of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Governor Agbu Kefas administration’s commitment to strengthening the relationship between the government and journalists for the development of the state.
She refuted earlier speculations from some groups that certain government officials had sponsored individuals to contest in the recent election, emphasizing that the state government is prepared to collaborate with anyone who emerges from the polls.
Additionally, Hon. Zainab Usman Jalingo highlighted the importance of promoting the good policies and programs of Governor Kefas’s administration, which aims to transform the state and improve the livelihoods of the people of Taraba.
She expressed her regret for not being able to attend the event personally due to another official engagement.
In response, the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Yough, thanked the Commissioner for her support of the people in her constituency, the journalists.
He pledged to maintain a productive working relationship between the government and the Correspondents’ Chapel to further the Moving Forward Agenda of Governor Kefas’s administration.
Recall that comrade Gabriel Yough polled 22 votes to defeat his opponent, Comrade Chuwang Dungs of the Premium Times who scored 11 votes in the total votes of 33.
