Governor Kefas Charges Newly Sworn in Permanent Secretaries to Drive Taraba State Forward






For strategic succession plan to ensure continuity and stability aimed at strengthening the civil service in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State swore in the 16 new Permanent Secretaries and a Special Adviser on Political Matters, a feat which marks another milestone in Taraba State's civil service transformation. This strategic succession planning process is key component established on merit-based succession planning process, adhering to the Civil Service Rules.


During the event, the Governor emphasized the vital role of the new appointees in governance, stressing that their positions demand integrity, professionalism, and commitment. He urged them to live up to expectations, noting that their decisions, actions, and leadership will significantly impact the people of the state.


Governor Kefas outlined his administration's key priorities, including good governance, service delivery, teamwork, professionalism, and good conduct. He emphasized that the Permanent Secretaries are now part of the team driving the state forward in all sectors and that their leadership is crucial to achieving the vision of moving forward.


The Governor also stressed that leadership is not about titles but about impact, urging the appointees to foster a spirit of service and humility in their respective ministries and cooperate with the people.


Rt Hon Josiah Sabo Kente, responding on behalf of the appointees, pledged to justify the trust bestowed upon them. He thanked the Governor for the opportunity to contribute to the state's development and promised to serve with integrity.


The oath of office and allegiance were administered to the appointees by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Filibus Joel Agya.


This development is seen as a significant step towards the state's civil serevice for better performance. With the new appointees on board, Governor Kefas' administration is poised to drive growth and progress in Taraba State.
