Free education and the reduction of hardship in Taraba.

Many families are testifying how the free education policy has changed their lives. Many university and other tertiary students too are narrating what the slashing of the school fees means to them. According to our findings the revolutionary policy by the state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has

1. Generally reduced hardship by taking the burden of school fees off parents.

2. Increased students enrollment as parents can now send more wards to school even up to higher institutions.

3. Given extra funds to parents and students to invest in other ventures

4. Cut off the anxieties students go through when school is opened over school fees. This anxieties often affect performance in learning.

5. Heightened scholarship as students now spend more time studying than working extra hours for school fees. Grades are getting better.

6. Enhanced government intervention in provisions of facilities.

7. Opened up the educational sector for more private sector participation

8. Facilitated the basis for teacher trainings and better welfare package for education sector workers.

9. Dealt with cultism and other criminal tendencies mostly inspired by poverty. This has led to greater calm within institutions.

10. Led to a domino effect with other sectors benefiting immensely.
