Abel Peter Diah, a veteran politician and former Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, continues to make waves in his constituency with his unwavering commitment to economic development. Born on June 1, 1971, in Mbamnga, Sardauna, Taraba State, Nigeria, Abel Peter Diah's journey to becoming a respected leader began with his primary and secondary education in his hometown ¹. He later pursued higher education at the Federal University of Technology, Yola, where he studied Business Administration.


Abel's entry into politics dates back to 1996 when he was elected Councillor representing Warwar Ward, Sardauna Local Government Council under the Zero Party System ¹. His impressive leadership skills earned him the position of Caretaker Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council between 1996 and 1997.


In 2003, Abel Peter Diah joined the People's Democratic Party and won the election to represent Mbamnga constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, a position he has held for six consecutive terms ¹. His colleagues recognized his leadership abilities, electing him as the 7th Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly in 2011 and later as the 8th Speaker.
