Taraba SGS Chief Barr G.T Kataps confers with the title of Jagaban Gashaka, by the Lamdo Gashaka



The Secretary to the  Government of Taraba State Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps,  the  Ngwii of Mambila has been conferred  with the  title of Jagaban Gashaka, by HRH Dr Zubairu HAMMAN Gabdo Mohammed Sambo, the Lamdo Gashaka in a colourful event that took place at the place of the Lamdo  Gashaka in Serti yesterday. 


" The title of Jagaban" is a Hausa title commonly used in the Northern Nigeria, particularly in the emirates and chiefdoms to mean a leader.


Some of the significant of the title are:


1. Leadership: Jagaban means "leader" or "commander" in Hausa.

2. Strength and courage: The title is often bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional strength, courage, and bravery.

3. Wisdom and counsel: A Jagaban is expected to possess wisdom, insight, and the ability to offer sound counsel.

4. Community service: The title recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their community, demonstrating selflessness and dedication.

5. Respect and authority: Jagaban is a title of respect, signifying authority, influence, and prestige.


In the context of the conferment on Barr GT Kataps, the title of Jagaban Gashaka acknowledges his leadership qualities, contributions to the community, and commitment to public service.
