The closing ceremony of the orientation course for 2024 Batch B Stream II Corp members deployed to Taraba State took place at the NYSC permanent site in Jauro Yinu, marking the end of a three-week journey for the prospective Corp members. His Excellency Alh Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, representing Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas, graced the occasion with his presence.
In his opening speech, Alh Aminu Abdullahi Alkali commended the management of the NYSC for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Corp members during their training. He also praised the Corp members for their endurance and resilience throughout the 21-day training. The training, conducted by military officers, aimed to equip the Corp members with the necessary skills to excel in every situation during their primary assignment.
Alkali charged the Corp members to be good ambassadors in their respective places of primary assignment, embracing the local culture, norms, and avoiding taboos. He assured them that they would enjoy their stay in Taraba State during the mandatory National Youth Service and might even consider staying back.
The Deputy Governor reflected on the significance of the National Youth Service Corp, highlighting its role in promoting unity and cultural exchange among different ethnic groups. He emphasized that the NYSC provides an opportunity for Corp members to learn from and experience other cultures from various parts of the country.
The 2024 Batch B Stream II Orientation Course commenced on August 28, 2024, and lasted for three weeks. The course aimed to equip Corp members with essential skills and knowledge to facilitate their contributions to national development.
As the Corp members embark on their primary assignments, they are expected to demonstrate the values of unity, discipline, and patriotism instilled in them during the orientation course. With the support of the Taraba State government, they are set to make a meaningful impact in their host communities.
