ARMY NABS IMPOSTER IN FAKE RECRUITMENT SCAM IN TARABA STATE

Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have apprehended an individual posing as an Army recruitment official in Taraba State. The arrest followed a visit by Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade, to the recruitment center at 114 Battalion Jimilari, aimed at overseeing the recruitment process and ensuring its credibility.

The imposter was caught  yesterday,  June 22, 2024, in the act of soliciting money from aspiring recruits, falsely promising them guaranteed entry into the Nigerian Army. The swift action by the troops prevented potential candidates from falling prey to deceitful schemes.

During his visit, Brigadier General Uwa underscored the Army's dedication to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process. "Fraud has no place in our recruitment system," he emphasized, cautioning candidates against illicit payments for recruitment assistance.

General Uwa commended the vigilance of the troops and affirmed the Army's unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of its recruitment practices. He assured that the apprehended imposter would be handed over to authorities for thorough investigation and prosecution.

The Brigade urges candidates and the public to promptly report any suspicious activities related to recruitment. This proactive approach ensures that only the most deserving individuals join the ranks of the Nigerian Army.
