Operatives of the special taskforce committee members led by its chairman retired General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa have taken a different dimension in its operations/patrol.
Just today, the STF operatives started their intensive patrol from murbai in Jalingo Local Government Area to Yelwan Tau in Ardo Kola Local Government Area and terminated the patrol at Abare in Lau Local Government Area covering three LGA's of the state.
It was discovered that the level of deforestation in the name of producing charcoal was just beyond the imagination of the operatives despite the warning and awareness across the sixteen LGA's.
Taraba News gathered that most of the people involved in this act are people from other part of the country, far north to be precise.
However, the chairman special taskforce committee members retired General Faransa said since people have decided to overturned the state governor's executive order will surely have their last drip infuse if they are caught.
"As you can see from the pics of the trees above, this is what was discovered during the endured operation of the STF. These areas are really suffering a neglect of the executive order of Governor Agbu Kefas which was issued in June, 2023. It is evident that the STF operatives will surely device a means of apprehending the perpetrators of these dastardly act to safe our environment". The chairman said.
