The Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas has described as laughable a statement credited to the APC Chairman in Taraba state Bar Ibrahim El-Sudi where the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State faulted Governor Agbu Kefas for engaging in what they called a lavish celebration of his daughter’s graduation at the time many residents of the state are having sleepless nights over insecurity, kidnapping and consequences of the removal of fuel subsidy.
Keziah Kefas, the governor’s daughter a few weeks ago was called to the Bar after graduating from Nigerian law school in Abuja. Dr. Kefas, yesterday (Thursday) hosted government officials, political associates, and other well-wishers to a call-to-bar dinner at Rainbow Event Center in Abuja.
Chairman of the party in the state, Ibrahim El-Sudi, told newsmen on Friday in Jalingo, the state capital, that it amounted to insensitivity on the part of the Governor to lavish the state lean resources on a Call to Bar ceremony for his daughter, when the state still mourning the death of those involved in the recent boat mishap in Karim Lamido, coupled with the high cases of kidnapping across the state.
Responding to the allegation the Special Adviser to Governor Kefas on Media and Digital Communication Hon. Emmanuel Bello, said "To start with, Taraba APC lacks the moral right to even speak of waste amid squalor. Not when the whole nation is alarmed at the insensitive and brazen wasteful expenses of the federal government. The annoying renovations of the personal estate and opulent lifestyles has left many Nigerians to wonder where APC prioritizes especially given the mind-boggling hardship in the country" @TN
He said Taraba APC failed to say anything about the Karim Lamido boat mishaps and is here talking about sensitivities. According to him, Governor Agbu Kefas was the first to condole with the bereaved in the I'll fated boat accident. The governor followed it up effectively by sending a high-powered delegation led by Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali to visit and console the families.
Hon Bello added that The governor has also ordered an investigation into the immediate and remote cause of boat mishaps. He said "All these were done before his trip to attend his beloved daughter's event. Every father can relate such actions borne out of the joy of seeing one's offspring, making it. Unless the APC is suggesting that people in government have no right to celebrate personal triumphs
"As for security, while the APC has failed the entire nation in securing lives and properties, Governor Kefas has been applauded for his initiatives at tackling insecurity. Apart from visiting all the service chiefs to seek support to secure Taraba state, Governor Agbu Kefas has committed lots of energy to find solutions.
