he Idoma Community in Taraba State has picked a new President General. Engr Linus Ikwuoche Ogebe, popularly known as MCP, was elected on 7 May 2023 and is scheduled to be inaugurated on 28 May.
Among other things, the new president general is charged with the responsibility of piloting the affairs of the Community in the State.
In an exclusive interview with Taraba News, Engr Linus Ikwuoche Ogebe promised to build on the achievements of the outgoing Executive Committee led by Mr. Maurice Adiga fca, while moving the association to a greater heights.
He added that his tenure would create awareness on convincing more Idoma indigenes living in Taraba State to join the association, saying the Idoma people are the third largest non-indigenes in Taraba State and present in all the 16 local government areas.
He explained that the essence of the association was not just to bury the corpse of a dead member or take it home as has been insinuated in many quarters but to unite the Idoma people and rally them for development back in their kingdom.
"My administration is not here to bury anybody; we came to give life and we will empower our people. We plan to teach our people a lot of skills and career development that will make them self-reliant," he said.
He and his EXCO members called on the general public to come out on Sunday, 21 May 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Idoma House located along Excellent Academy Road in Mile Six area in Jalingo of Taraba State for the historical official inauguration of the Engr Linus Ikwuoche Ogebe-led executive committee.
