The newly appointed Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State, Alhaji Mohammed Lamido Tukur has assumed duty.
The mantle of leadership of the office was handed to the new Registrar by the former Acting Registrar, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Baba.
Similarly, the newly appointed Bursar of the institution, Hajiya Larai Hamman Dahiru has also assumed the responsibilities of the office.
The leadership affairs of the Bursary Department was handed over to her by the former Acting Bursar, Alhaji Abdulmumini Barkindo.
The significant events marking the transitions, took place at the Rector’s conference hall of the Polytechnic on Wednesday.
The day equally marked the end of Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Baba’s tenure as Acting Registrar and Alhaji Barkindo Abdulmumini as Acting Bursar as they formally transferred their duties to the substantive Registrar and Bursar respectively.
The event was attended by members of the Management, Dean’s, Directors, Head of departments, staff of the Polytechnic, students and well wishers, highlighting the importance of the leadership transition.
Speaking at the event, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Usman who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Engineer. Sani Isa Abubakar, applauded the outgone leaders for their dedication and commitment during their tenures and congratulated the substantive Registrar and Bursar, urging them to collaborate to foster cordial and harmonious working environment within and outside of the Polytechnic
The outgone leaders used the forum to share their experiences and reflections during their tenures.
The outgone Acting Registrar, Alhaji Umar, highlighted some of the initiatives he undertook to improve services of the institution, concluding that it was an honour to serve the polytechnic.
On his part, the outgone Acting Bursar, stressed that for the period of one year he was acting, a lot were achieved despite challenges.
In their responses, the new Registrar, Alhaji Mohammed Lamido Tukur and the new Bursar, Hajiya Larai Hamman Dahiru, expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to them to serve the Polytechnic for the next five years.
They pledged their acceptance of the responsibilities, promising to strive to build positively on the work of their predecessors.
They equally appreciated the efforts of members of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic, Management and staff for their support during the struggles.
Highlights of the event was presentations of medals to various awardees recognizing their hard work and determination.
The recipients include Rector, outgone Acting Registrar, outgone Acting Bursar, Coach, Head of sports and one other staff, whose performances at the last NIPOGA games left a significant mark on the participation of the institution in the competition.
Meanwhile, members of the new students representative council were also inaugurated by the Rector Dr. Mohammed Usman who was represented by the Deputy Rector Engineer. Sani Isa Abubakar.
The oaths of office were administered by Barr. Jacob Zakariya of Magistrate Court Bali and Barr. Mahmud A. Jibo.
In a vote of thanks, the Director Academic Planning Dr. Yahaya Tukur, commended the management, new leaders, outgone leaders and the entire polytechnic community for making the event a successful one.
