Hajiya Barde distributed Ramadan Relief to Zing students across tertiary institutions.




Hajiya Aisha A. Barde, the Honourable Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change, Taraba State, engaged with students from Zing Local Government Area who are studying in various tertiary institutions in Jalingo. This interaction included students from Taraba State University, College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, College of Nursing and Midwifery, and Taraba State Polytechnic. The Honourable Commissioner expressed her excitement about meeting the students, highlighting her commitment to community engagement and goodwill.


During the engagement, Hajiya Barde distributed Ramadan packages to support the students during the fasting/lent period. These packages included essential food items such as rice, sugar, spaghetti, macaroni, indomie, and vegetable oil. This gesture was part of the state government's efforts to support students' welfare and facilitate their religious observance. Additionally, she provided transportation fare to help the students return to their various campuses, further demonstrating the government's commitment to their well-being.


In her remarks, Hajiya Barde assured the students of the governor's continuous support and emphasized the importance of staying focused, studying hard, and maintaining unity and peace. She specifically encouraged female students to unite, noting that the Governor  of Taraba State, Dr.Agbu Kefas, has women's welfare in mind and believes that unity can lead to significant achievements. She also expressed gratitude to the governor for appointing her as the first female commissioner from Zing Local Government Area, highlighting her role in community development.


The students warmly appreciated Ms. Barde's gesture, with Comrade Charles, the President of Zing Students Union, expressing that this was the first time such support had been received by Zing students. He described the Commissioner as a mother and sister to all Zing students, acknowledging her generosity and previous support, such as the food distribution in Zing last December. Other speakers, including Comrade Dozo and Hon. Almajiri urged the students to appreciate the gesture and to focus on contributing positively to society. The President, Mumuye Cultural Development Association, Youth Wing, Comrade Ezekiel, also expressed gratitude for the Commissioner's kindness and encouraged student leaders to share the support transparently.
