The maiden edition of Taraba climate Actors summit has been held in Jalingo.

The program organised by Taraba Youth Transformation Initiative in collaboration with civil society organizations had its theme "rebuilding the broken wall".

Speaking, the founder of the Taraba YouthsTransformation Initiative, TYTI, Emmanuel Yakubu said the summit seeks to provide a platform for climate actors to have conversation around climate change.

He said it was high time individuals, government,  and communities to move away from lamentations to taking proactive steps in curbing the threats posed by climate change.

In their goodwill messages the chairman of coalition of civil society,  Gimba Joseph , professor Emuobonuvie Emerh from the department of geography Taraba State University among others stressed the significance of tree planting.

In their paper presentation doctor Daniel Buba and doctor Vincent Ojeh all stressed the importance of recycling and investing in sustainable energy.

The speakers reminded the participants of the need to harness the abundant natural resources in Taraba for a prosperous and egalitarian state.
