Taraba SEMA welcomed Mr. Suleiman Yusuf, the NEMA North East Zonal Director, on a familiarization visit to Taraba State. The primary objective of the visit was to strengthen stakeholder capacity in disaster management, information sharing, and collaborative efforts.
During the visit, Mr. Yusuf and his delegation, including Mr. Ladan Ayuba, Head of Operations Adamawa/Taraba Office, met with the Board Chairman Dr. Umaru Dorofi and Dr. Echuseh Audu, the Executive Secretary of Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The discussion focused on equipping stakeholders with enhanced knowledge and strategies for effective disaster management, emphasizing the importance of seamless information sharing and robust collaboration between NEMA and SEMA.
The visit also included a meeting with the Sector Commander Abdul Malik Bello at the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) head office in Jalingo, highlighting the necessity of inter-agency cooperation in emergency response.
Mr. Yusuf commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his commitment to providing humanitarian services to the citizens of Taraba State, demonstrating the state government's proactive approach to disaster management and citizen welfare.
The delegation was received and taken around by the head of Taraba State Emergency Agency, Dr. Echuseh Audu, who expressed the readiness of the Taraba State government to work together with NEMA and other emergency response organizations.
