FREE EDUCATION: DR AUGUSTINA PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO WUKARI

 

















Dr Augustina, the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education stormed Wukari LGA for face to face interractions with teachers, students and education stakeholders in the LGA.


On arriving, the Honourable Commissioner was warmly received by the Education Secretary, Mr Adugu Bako Luka and the NUT chairman Mr Ba’aku Bawa Adi of Wukari LGA respectively. The Commissioner headed to the palace of Aku Uka the supreme ruler of Jukun race and Chairman, Taraba state Council of Chiefs, His Majesty, Manu Ishaku Ada Ali to pay homage, receive his royal blessings and to intimate him of the commencement of the Kefas’s construction of 60 schools in Taraba state particularly that of Wukari.


The monarch thanked the Commissioner for the working visit and urged the government of Dr Agbu Kefas to prioritize setting more science schools in the state considering the pressing needs. He lauded the efforts of His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for massively improving the education sector and the state at large. He prayed for God’s wisdom and divine enablement as he pilots the affairs of this great state.


In the same vein, the Commissioner visited several schools among which were GDSS Marmara, MGGSS, GTTS Wukari, Ebenezar Primary School, Yakassen Government Day Secondary School and GSS Wukari.


Dr Godwin on behalf of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, also visited the Chairman House Committee on Education, Hon. Josiah Angye and P.A Political to His Excellency over the loss of their loved ones. She further visited the mother to His Excellency to seek for her blessings and prayers.


The Commissioner stopped by at the Local Education Authority Wukari for interractions with teachers and to also encourage them to continue the good works they are doing adding that teachers are second parents and they must do everything possible to ensure that they inculcate good morals and sound discipline in them.
