Taraba: Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Four NULGE Officials, Several Others Injured

 



The President of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Bajison Wakili Damunga, has confirmed the tragic death of four NULGE officials in a motor accident along the Mutum-Biyu-Jalingo road. 


The officials, who were returning from Abuja after attending the National NULGE election, were caught in the unfortunate incident.


The deceased include Comrade Musa Ahmadi Alkali, the State Auditor; Comrade Hadiza Aliyu Barau, Zing Chairperson; Comrade Yakubu Tanko, Takum; and the bus driver.


In a statement, the NULGE President revealed that two other victims of the crash have been discharged from the hospital, while four others are currently receiving medical attention and responding to treatment.


Comrade Damunga expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased, praying for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He also extended prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the accident.


The statement appreciated the Taraba State government, political leaders, party members, NULGE ulge  veterans and unions both within and outside the state for their support during this difficult time. 


The NULGE president specifically thanked the Taraba State House Committee Chairman for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abel Peter Diah, Bureau for local govenment and chieftancy affairs, Staff  and management of FMC Jalingo, as well as Security Agencies in Taraba state for their solidarity and assistance.


The statement further directed the closure of all NULGE secretariat across the  state for the mourning of the soul of the departed members


The incident has left the NULGE community in mourning, with calls for more stringent safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
