The Governor of Taraba state, Dr Agbu Kefas , on Thursday, joined his Adamawa state counterpart, Rt Hon Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, to grace the Coronation and Presentation of Staff of office to the new Second class Chief of Michika, the Mbege Ka Michika, in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa state.
The Chief Judge of Adamawa state, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, administered the oath of office to the new chief.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Umaru Ahmadu Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri noted that the creation of the Chiefdom is a step taken by his administration to harness both human and natural resources that abound in the area and stressed the need to make the Chiefdom a symbol of unity and growth.
Governor Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri further stressed the need for the promotion and sustenance of peace and unity to allow everyone to contribute to the growth of the society.
He disclosed that his government is investing in critical infrastructure and other sectors of the economy to give the people a platform to contribute and realize their full potential.
Fintiri reiterated commitment to building bonds of unity and upholding the value of fairness and progress
In his acceptance speech, the Mbege Ka Michika, Prof Bulus Luka Gadiga, who bestowed a Chieftaincy title of the Shield of Michika on Governor Fintiri, extended his deepest appreciation to the Governor, for giving the Michika people a voice.
He encouraged the youths to use Social media with decorum to promote growth and not to destabilize society.
In a goodwill message on behalf of the Lamido Adamawa, HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, represented by the Wali Adamawa, Alhaji Aminu Abdulqadir, said the new Chiefdom will bring the government closer to the people.
He added that he would collaborate with the new chiefs to ensure peace reigns in all nooks and crannies of Adamawa state.
