APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF OPERATIONS OFFICERS (DRIVERS)

 

R-U EXECUTIVE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS LIMITED (RUETAL) is in going into the business of providing commuters world class, safe, reliable, efficient, hospitable and comfortable movement and transportation of goods at reasonable costs and timely delivery. Our vision is to provide alternative services to, as well as complement air transport services in and out of Jalingo. Car hire as well as ambulance services will form an integral part of our operations on take off sometime in December 2024. Scheduled trips from Jalingo to Yola and vice versa will commence on take off of operations and shall adhere strictly to take off times. 

Our single-minded purpose is our brand’s growth and development, enabled by the way we prioritize the welfare of our employees as key performers in our desire to satisfy our customers. To this end, it is in our core personnel objective that our OPERATIONS OFFICERS (Drivers) shall be placed on a progressive growth that will eventually see them assume partnership in some aspects of our business. Although we are new in the business, we have put in place performance architecture and infrastructure to enable us challenge the existing system. We therefore desire to hire OPERATIONS OFFICERS that will key into our vision and mission.

In view of the above, exciting opportunities exist for OPERATIONS OFFICERS (Drivers) who will operate shuttles between Jalingo and YOLA and vice versa. They shall also respond to car hire requests for movements within and out of Taraba State. The main responsibility of the OPERATIONS OFFICERS will be to ensure safe driving and ensure maximum comfort of passengers in a friendly environment. Considering the calibre of clients we shall be serving, this shall remain a key performance index in our periodic review of the Officers.

 

All Operations Officers shall report to the  Fleet Manager

 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

·       Compliance with the ethical standards of RUETAL

·       Safe driving and ensure vehicles are in good condition

·       Prudent management of resources

.    Maximum comfort of passengers

OPERATIONAL FOCUS

1.  Meet the defensive driver training requirements as established by RUETAL and operate the motor vehicle in a safe and prudent manner at all times;

2. Use the motor vehicle's complete occupant restraint system at all times and ensure that each passenger fasten his or her seat belt;

3. Report motor vehicles that are unsafe to the Fleet Manager;

4. Report all accidents to the Fleet Manager and CEO of the company;

5. Take responsibility for all parking and traffic violation fines levied against them;

6. Ensure assigned motor vehicle is properly secured when unattended;

7. Ensure the motor vehicle is properly serviced and inspected during the course of operation or notify the focal person of needed servicing (Preventive Maintenance)

8. Ensure motor vehicle is kept clean at all times during and after trips. Specifically, he must ensure that the underside of the vehicle is cleaned regularly to prevent the adverse effects of mud and dust on the wheel-drive function, when applicable.

9. Avoid accumulation of trash or refuse inside the vehicle.

10. Complete a pre-trip checklist on vehicle before using it and it should be signed and submitted to focal person for documentation.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE:

·       At least  3-5 years’ experience in the industry with accident-free records

               QUALIFICATION

·       Possess a valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle being operated.

·       OND/NCE minimum in any field. 

·       HND, BA/BSc in any field will be an added advantage 

               ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

·       Working knowledge of internet

·       Ability to speak English, Hausa and any other language

·       Basic understanding of the workings of motor vehicles

·       Basic First Aid procedures

·       Excellent physical fitness including eye sight, mental alertness

·       Zero tolerance for alcohol and substance usage

.    Aged between 25 - 35 years

        REMUNERATION

  . Remuneration will be as obtainable in the industry, but with very high prospects of part ownership of some aspects of the business after some years of satisfactory performance.
