REFORMED CHURCH OF CHRIST FOR NATIONS (RCCN) DELEGATION TRAGEDY By Mary Osewoshi Angulu

 



A devastating tragedy struck yesterday when a bus carrying members of the Reformed Church of Christ for Nations (RCCN) delegation to the International Conference of the New Life for All (NLFA) in Jos was involved in a catastrophic accident, claiming the lives of two Pastors and three members.


According to eyewitnesses who spoke with TarabaNews corespondent, the bus was just a kilometer away from Shendam when the incident occurred, leaving the RCCN community in a state of shock and grief. Several members of the delegation sustained varying degrees of injuries and are receiving medical attention.


The deceased Pastors, Rev. Elijah Yakubu and Rev. John Kurutsi are described as soldiers in the cornfields of RCCN who have been dedicated servants of the Lord, whose legacies will live on through the countless lives they touched. 


Their untimely passing has sent shockwaves throughout the RCCN community and the church in Taraba State.


The International Conference of the New Life for All (NLFA) was meant to be a joyous occasion, bringing together like-minded individuals from far and wide to share in the spirit of unity and purpose. Instead, the RCCN delegation's journey was cut short in the most tragic of circumstances.


In an exclusive interview with TarabaNews, a member of the delegation who survived the accident described the scene as "chaotic and devastating."


"We were all excited to attend the conference and share in the spirit of unity and purpose. But in an instant, our joy turned to sorrow. We lost two great men of God and three devoted members. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones," the survivor said, struggling to hold back tears.


The leadership of RCCN has urged all to join them in prayer for the families of the deceased, the injured, and the entire RCCN community, as they navigate this difficult time.


As the news of the tragedy spreads, tributes have begun to pour in from across the country, with many describing the deceased Pastors as "pillars of faith" and "dedicated servants of the Lord."


In the light of this, the Leadership of the RCCN Choir and entire Choristers have extended their heartfelt condolences to the RCCN President, General Secretary, Executive Committee Members, Pastors and their wives, Evangelists, Elders, Deacons, Sub-Group Activities Leaders, and the entire membership of RCCN worldwide.


In a press release signed by Eld. Ande Yusuf, Secretary-General of the RCCN National Choir, the church expressed its deepest sorrow over the tragic loss of the beloved Pastors, Pastor's wives, and Elders. The statement read: "May the Lord God grant them eternal rest and comfort their immediate families, the Church, and community in Jesus' name. Amen."


The press release said the deceased Pastors, Rev. Elijah Yakubu and Rev. John Kurutsi, were described as dedicated servants of the Lord, whose legacies will live on through the countless lives they touched. Their untimely passing has sent shockwaves throughout the RCCN community and beyond.
