Brigadier General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa [Rtd], the newly appointed Chairman of the task force dedicated to the suspension of mining activities in Taraba State, has embarked on a comprehensive approach to revitalize the Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TSIRS) and ensure sustainable development in the region.
General Faransa, who also serves as the Chairman of TSIRS, and his team wasted no time in assuming office and conducting a thorough inspection of the organization's facilities and operations. During the inspection, General Faransa emphasized the importance of staff collaboration and knowledge exchange to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the TSIRS. He tasked the staff to engage in cross-fertilization of ideas for the betterment of the organization, aiming to implement innovative strategies and practices.
Furthermore, General Faransa announced plans to initiate capacity building training and retraining programs for the TSIRS staff, both locally and internationally. He stressed the need to modernize and adapt to new ways of operating, moving away from outdated practices. The retired General highlighted the significance of hard work and dedication among the staff, emphasizing that legitimate entitlements will be granted to those who demonstrate commitment and strive for excellence.

On revenue and tax matters, General Faransa issued a strong warning to those who evade tax payments, affirming that non-compliance will be met with legal consequences.
